Associate Attorney needed for Edwardsville office

A law firm in Edwardsville, IL, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The Associate Attorney will primarily handle cases involving clients diagnosed with asbestos-related diseases. They will file legal complaints, offer legal advice, prepare legal documents, and represent clients throughout the legal process. Additionally, they will assist the Supervising Attorney with case workup, motions, client interviews, depositions, court appearances, and discovery preparation.

Duties:

• File legal complaints and offer legal advice to clients with asbestos-related diseases
• Prepare legal documents and represent clients in legal proceedings
• Assist Supervising Attorney with case workup, motions, and discovery preparation
• Conduct client and witness interviews to gather and evaluate information
• Depose witnesses and clients as necessary
• Appear in court as needed
• Return and respond to client and defense counsel communication
• Gather and analyze information from various records (e.g., Social Security, Medical, Military, Union)
• Delegate assignments to team paralegals and legal assistants

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice Law in the State of Illinois
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Self-motivated and well-organized
