A law firm is seeking a qualified Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with tax issues pertaining to renewable energy transactions. Below is a detailed job description:

Job Overview:

The Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel and support to clients involved in renewable energy transactions. The position requires expertise in tax law, particularly in relation to renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on tax matters related to renewable energy transactions, including but not limited to, begin construction requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and apprenticeship requirements under code section 45 and 48.
  • Handle M&A transactions, tax equity transactions, tax credit transfers, and other joint ventures in the renewable energy sector.
  • Prepare and review tax opinion letters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues affecting renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of experience practicing law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Extensive experience with tax credit transactions, tax credit transfers, tax equity financings, and tax opinion letters.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • LL.M. in taxation preferred but not required.
