Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Ensure daily management and clearing of case management software (CMS) feed.
  • Complete assigned tasks by relevant due dates and maintain timely email clearance.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate case documentation in CMS.
  • Support the Intake department to ensure swift and efficient meetings with potential new clients.
  • Handle death benefit claims with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
  • Provide expert advice and strategic counsel on active Workers’ Compensation cases.
  • Manage and monitor assigned cases when primary attorneys are unavailable.
  • Establish, review, and update case plans when covering for absent attorneys.
  • Identify and address case issues during attorney absences.
  • Draft non-routine correspondence in the absence of primary attorneys.
  • Ensure case goals and objectives are met by reviewing determinations and providing legal coverage.
  • Oversee litigation processes and direct legal arguments and evidence presentation during the attorney's absence.
  • Maintain client communication and advocate for clients at hearings when necessary.
  • Participate in administrative and leadership team meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
  • Active and good-standing license to practice law in the State of Nevada.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license, driving insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Strong legal knowledge, including principles, research techniques, terminology, and regulations.
  • Proficient in legal writing, drafting, and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment.
  • Ability to operate CMS and online databases effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, diligence, and adaptability.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Strong command of the English language in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in case analysis and settlement strategies.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Nevada (active and in good standing).
