Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is looking for a Senior Private Equity Associate to join its Private Equity Group in multiple office locations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience advising private equity firms and portfolio companies on complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, equity investments, and other corporate matters. Location:

Duties:

  • Advise private equity firms and portfolio companies on:
    • Mergers and acquisitions
    • Leveraged buyouts
    • Equity investments
    • General corporate matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents
  • Provide strategic legal advice and ensure compliance with relevant laws
  • Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality legal documentation
  • Collaborate with other team members and clients to successfully execute transactions
  • Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in private equity transactions
  • Experience in AmLaw 100 law firms or SEC-related work is preferred
  • Strong analytical and legal writing skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of the applied office (required)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law
  • Strong communication, leadership, and management skills
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
  • Research and conceptual thinking abilities
