The ideal candidate will have a background in defending against various General Liability claims, including Medical Malpractice and Assisted Living/Long-Term Care cases. Duties

  • Review and analyze medical records to build a strong defense for clients.
  • Draft and file motions, as well as attend court hearings to represent clients.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and participate in depositions when required.
  • Create comprehensive legal reports, including initial, interim, and pre-trial reports.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court proceedings to ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Take and defend depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients through mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in Florida.
  • 3-10 years of experience in Medical Malpractice, Assisted Living/Long-Term Care defense, or General Liability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and present findings.
  • Proven experience drafting motions for summary judgments.
  • Comfort with attending regular court appearances and representing clients in various stages of litigation.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.

Certifications

  • Florida Bar License.
