Job Overview: A reputable law firm in Birmingham, MI seeks an experienced and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of litigation practice, particularly within commercial and municipal defense. Duties:

• Formulate and implement defense strategies for commercial and municipal defense litigation cases.
• Conduct a thorough analysis of claims and legal defenses.
• Work closely with senior attorneys and partners to develop comprehensive case strategies.
• Draft and present various types of motions, including dismissal motions, discovery motions, and summary judgments.
• Prepare and respond effectively to discovery requests.
• Conduct and defend client depositions.
• Engage in pre-trial and trial preparation.
• Maintain consistent and transparent communication with clients, providing timely updates and insights on case developments.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in litigation, emphasizing commercial litigation and municipal defense.
• Proven ability to draft and argue motions, manage discovery processes, and conduct depositions.
• Demonstrated research, writing, and analytical proficiency.
• Capacity to work independently while also excelling in a team environment.
• Previous trial experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Having an existing book of business is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the Michigan Bar.

Certifications:

• Valid and active Michigan Bar license.
