A law firm in Portland, ME, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Lending/Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team. This role requires a skilled attorney with 4-6 years of experience in commercial lending and real estate transactions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in handling commercial loans and real estate transactions and will be adept at navigating complex legal issues.

Duties:

  • Manage and execute commercial lending and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, and financing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial loan agreements, real estate purchase agreements, and related documents.
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare detailed reports on land use, permitting, title examinations, and title insurance.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on commercial real estate matters, including property acquisition, development, and financing.
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, closings, and other transactional activities.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting commercial lending and real estate.
  • Assist with land use and permitting matters, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple cases and transactions efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Maine and New Hampshire Bar.
  • 4-6 years of experience in commercial lending and real estate transactions, with a demonstrated ability to close deals effectively.
  • Additional experience in land use and permitting matters, title examinations, and title insurance is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending laws and real estate regulations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Maine and New Hampshire.

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
