General Liability/Professional Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its General Liability/Professional Liability practice group in downtown Los Angeles. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven litigation attorney with strong writing, oral advocacy, and discovery skills to handle a diverse range of cases. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys, manage multiple client matters, and contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced team. The firm is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, stay organized, and take proactive ownership of their caseload.

Duties

• Collaborate with clients to assess legal conflicts and develop tailored strategies for resolution.
• Participate in court hearings, legal proceedings, and client meetings as needed.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client advice.
• Prepare legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
• Work alongside senior attorneys to provide strategic counsel on complex legal matters.
• Maintain organized case files to ensure the most recent updates are accessible to the team.
• Communicate effectively with clients, partners, paralegals, and staff to ensure smooth case progression and client satisfaction.
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met efficiently.

Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong focus on legal writing and advocacy.
• Some litigation experience, preferably in general and/or professional liability.
• Strong experience in discovery, law and motion practice, and court appearances.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and staff to deliver superior legal service.
• Must be a member in good standing of the California State Bar and actively engaged with professional organizations such as the ABA.
• Ability to meet 1850 billable hours annually.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
