Job Overview: A law firm in Orlando, FL, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Property And Casualty Insurance Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of insurance litigation experience, a strong background in insurance coverage issues, and preferably some knowledge of bad faith insurance matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on insurance coverage issues related to property and casualty claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and legal documents.
  • Assist in deposition preparation and conduct depositions of witnesses, including expert witnesses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on insurance-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar; other state bar admissions a plus.
  • 2-6 years of experience in insurance litigation, particularly in property and casualty insurance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance coverage issues; familiarity with bad faith insurance issues preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials with demonstrated writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with federal clerkship or state appellate clerkship.
  • Prior experience in handling complex insurance litigation cases.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations or bar associations.
