The role requires a hands-on approach to client interaction, case management, and courtroom advocacy, all while working closely with an internal support team.

Duties:

  • Handle personal injury cases from initial intake through resolution, including trial if necessary

  • Conduct client consultations and maintain consistent communication throughout the legal process

  • Oversee pre-litigation strategy, including document drafting, demand letters, and settlement negotiations

  • Lead litigation efforts including discovery, depositions, motions practice, and court appearances

  • Supervise and collaborate with legal assistants and case support staff

  • Work closely with external stakeholders such as opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, and medical experts

  • Contribute to internal process improvement and firm-wide legal strategy

  • Uphold the firm’s client-first philosophy through timely, ethical, and competent representation

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing in personal injury and/or long-term care litigation

  • Substantial courtroom experience and familiarity with trial procedure preferred

  • Adept in drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and preparing persuasive written arguments

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a commitment to client service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Illinois State Bar admission in good standing

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication

  • Advanced legal research and analysis capability

  • Proficiency in case management software and standard legal tech tools

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff and collaborate across departments

  • The high degree of initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities
