Debt Finance Associate (Energy & Infrastructure)

A law firm seeks an experienced Debt Finance Associate to join its team in New York, specializing in energy and infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 2-6 years of relevant experience to work on high-profile projects in the renewable sector, oil and gas, and digital infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising on the financing, acquisition, and development of complex energy and infrastructure projects, including wind, solar, LNG, and data centers.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate financing documents, including credit agreements, depositary agreements, note purchase agreements, and security documents.
• Review and draft project documents, including commercial agreements for energy and infrastructure deals.
• Provide legal counsel on debt finance transactions, focusing on both domestic and international deals.
• Advise clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors on project financing, development, and acquisitions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated and innovative legal solutions.
• Assist in structuring financing deals for renewable energy, oil and gas, conventional power, and digital infrastructure projects.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including private equity funds, project developers, commercial banks, institutional investors, and direct lenders.
• Keep clients informed on market developments, financing trends, and regulatory changes.

Requirements:

• 2-6 years of experience in debt finance, with a focus on energy and infrastructure.
• Strong experience in drafting and negotiating financing documents and project agreements.
• Familiarity with acquisition finance, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Ability to handle complex debt finance transactions and provide strategic advice.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Excellent academic credentials and a track record of success in legal practice.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in New York or eligibility for admission.
