Duties:

  • Handle due process complaints and administrative hearings related to special education disputes.
  • Assist clients in navigating disciplinary actions and appeals within the educational system.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare case materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff on case management and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • Experience practicing law, with a focus on special education law preferred.
  • Proven experience attending IEP meetings and handling due process complaints.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent research, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving abilities, and project management skills.
  • Prior experience in education law or related fields is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
