Associate Attorney needed for Melville office

A law firm in Melville, NY, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in Labor Law, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, Subrogation, and General Liability Defense.

Job Overview:

• Assist in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, attending court hearings, and participating in depositions.
• Handle a caseload involving Labor Law, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, Subrogation, and General Liability Defense matters.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
• Work collaboratively with partners and senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant case law and statutes.
• Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations as required.
• Participate in depositions and witness interviews.
• Communicate with clients to provide updates on case progress and discuss strategy.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes with opposing parties.
• Assist senior attorneys with trial preparation and strategy.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York State Bar
• 3-5 years of experience in Labor Law, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, Subrogation, and General Liability Defense

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar
