General Liability (Maritime) Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice group with a focus on Maritime law. This position is available in several locations across Florida, ideal for candidates who demonstrate a strong background in relevant practice areas, along with exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.

Location:

• Miami, FL

Duties:

• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims
• Perform extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, and pleadings
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate on expert witness retention
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Some travel may be required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General Liability, with a focus on Maritime law
• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in Florida; additional state admissions are a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent research and communication abilities
• Strong work ethic and self-management skills
• Timely response to emails and phone inquiries
• Exceptional client interaction skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active law license in Florida
