Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team in Dallas, TX. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to gain valuable experience in immigration law. The attorney will work closely with senior associates and contribute to the firm's commitment to providing effective legal services. The position involves managing cases, client interaction, and working collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Location:

  • Dallas, TX

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload and ensure timely progression of cases.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes to immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary legal strategy.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine any potential case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with an openness to collaborating, strategizing, and assisting fellow associates.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to manage and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR cases, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including various case types and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
