Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional support to the legal team in immigration law matters.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of immigration court filings, applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Appear before the immigration court on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct thorough research on immigration laws, regulations, and procedures to support case preparation and legal arguments.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client files, ensuring all relevant documents and correspondence are stored and easily accessible.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on case progress and answering inquiries professionally and timely.
  • Assist in translation and interpretation during meetings, hearings, and interviews.
  • Stay updated with changes in immigration laws, regulations, and procedures, and communicate relevant updates to the legal team.
  • Supervise junior attorneys and legal staff, providing guidance and support in case management and legal strategies.
  • Collaborate with the firm's leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for the immigration practice.

Requirements

  • Education: Law Degree (JD) from an accredited institution in the United States.
  • Certifications:
    • Member in good standing of a state bar.
    • Certification in Immigration Law is preferred but not required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Immigration Law, particularly in removal defense.
  • Skills:
    • Extensive knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
    • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management.
    • Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal databases and resources.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in using computer applications and legal software for document management and research purposes.
