A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of general litigation experience, with a preference for those with extensive experience in civil litigation and familiarity with financial restructuring, including large Chapter 11 cases. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong academic credentials, effective client management skills, and a team-oriented, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute civil litigation matters, including drafting and responding to pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Oversee the discovery process, including the preparation of discovery requests and responses, and managing document production.
  • Prepare for and support trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial strategy development.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and offer strategic advice.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and court proceedings, representing clients effectively and professionally.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing complex litigation issues.
  • Assist with financial restructuring matters, including large Chapter 11 cases, as applicable.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of general litigation experience, with extensive experience in civil litigation preferred; experience in financial restructuring, including large Chapter 11 cases, is a plus.
  • Bar Admission: Must be admitted and in good standing with a State Bar.
  • Skills:
    • Strong academic credentials and proven work experience in litigation.
    • Extensive knowledge of civil litigation processes, including discovery, briefing, and trial preparation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong client management skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
