Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a dedicated Estate Planning Attorney to join its team in Northville, MI. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drafting estate planning documents and managing trust and estate administration. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with seniors and families, guiding them through the complexities of estate planning and elder law. The attorney will collaborate with a skilled legal team while maintaining a client-focused approach.

Location:

  • Northville, MI 

Duties:

  • Draft comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Manage trust and estate administration, including probate, trust funding, and distribution
  • Conduct client meetings to present estate planning strategies and provide ongoing legal support
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that client matters are handled efficiently and accurately
  • Provide guidance on elder law issues, including Medicaid planning (if applicable)
  • Maintain high standards of client service and confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Active Bar membership in Michigan
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning, trust, and estate administration
  • Strong drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail in estate planning documents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously and effectively
  • Knowledge of Medicaid planning and elder law is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Michigan State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
