Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its Family Law practice. This role involves managing family law cases, communicating with clients, and ensuring the protection of their legal rights during sensitive matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in family law, with a focus on building strong, trusting relationships with clients while providing expert legal guidance in cases such as Dissolution of Marriage, Paternity, Adoptions, and more.

Duties

  • Manage and represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, paternity, adoption, and child custody.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients during emotionally charged situations.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, and affidavits.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to keep them informed on case progress.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients and resolve conflicts amicably.
  • Ensure all legal work adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies.

Requirements

  • Experience in family law, including handling cases like Dissolution of Marriage, Paternity, and Adoption.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in both litigation and mediation within family law.
  • Strong communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive and emotionally charged legal matters with care.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of FL.
