Excellent oral advocacy, legal research, organizational, and writing skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in federal tax disputes, including negotiations and litigation before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and federal courts.
  • Provide expert guidance on federal and international tax issues, with a particular focus on transfer pricing and tax controversy.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support tax dispute resolutions.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement effective tax strategies and solutions.
  • Manage complex cases and maintain detailed records of case progress and client communications.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and relevant case law.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior attorneys and staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in federal and international taxation, with a strong focus on transfer pricing and tax controversy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in federal tax subject matter and experience with tax litigation.
  • A background in accounting or an LL.M. in tax law is preferred.
  • Experience with federal court clerkships and knowledge of international tax issues is advantageous.
  • Excellent oral advocacy, legal research, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex team environment.
  • Energetic, collaborative personality with outstanding interpersonal skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar where the firm is located.
  • An LL.M. in Taxation or related field preferred.
  • Accounting background or relevant federal court clerkship experience is a plus.

  • Deep knowledge of federal and international tax law, including transfer pricing.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
