A law firm is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Counsel to handle a range of significant legal matters in a non-partner track role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both trial and appellate court matters, with a proven track record of drafting briefs and motions in complex cases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and take ownership of multiple significant litigation projects.
  • Handle both trial and appellate court matters.
  • Draft and file comprehensive briefs and a wide range of motions in state and federal courts.
  • Work on cases involving commercial contracts, real estate disputes, construction claims, healthcare disputes, and insurance recovery matters.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop case strategies.
  • Represent public agency clients (preferred).
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

  • 7-15 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in trial and appellate court matters.
  • Exceptional research and writing skills, including experience with complex briefs and motions.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple significant projects.
  • Experience with commercial contracts, real estate disputes, construction claims, healthcare disputes, and insurance recovery.
  • Experience representing public agency clients is preferred.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation matters.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
