Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to represent clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, and prenuptial agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience handling sensitive legal matters such as child abuse, domestic violence, and marital asset division. This position offers an opportunity to work with a collaborative team, advocate for clients during emotional and high-stress situations, and provide compassionate legal services to individuals navigating challenging family matters.

Location:

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of family law cases, from inception through resolution, including divorce, custody, and support matters
  • Represent clients in court hearings and legal proceedings
  • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce settlements
  • Develop case strategies and advocate for clients in negotiation and litigation
  • Maintain and organize client files, ensuring they are current and properly documented
  • Provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Analyze legal issues and documentation, ensuring accurate and thorough case management
  • Communicate effectively with senior partners, staff, and clients to drive cases forward
  • Navigate sensitive and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and empathy

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing Family Law, including handling divorce, child custody, and marital property division
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress, emotionally charged environments
  • Experience advocating for clients in both contentious and amicable family law matters
  • Ability to independently manage full case-handling responsibilities
  • Proven record of success in both litigation and settlement negotiations
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • High emotional intelligence, able to manage sensitive client interactions
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and collaborate with other legal professionals

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
  • Good standing with the State Bar of Texas
