Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Overview: A Los Angeles-based law firm, specializing in providing legal support to educational institutions, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in litigation and be dedicated to assisting K-12 schools and community colleges in managing legal challenges. The role requires a self-sufficient and highly skilled attorney capable of managing cases independently while working collaboratively with a team.

Duties:

• Manage and oversee a full litigation caseload from initiation to resolution.
• Draft, review, and argue motions, including but not limited to summary judgment motions.
• Conduct depositions, including both taking and defending.
• Perform legal research and provide thorough, well-reasoned legal opinions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive team strategies and solutions.
• Handle litigation matters in both state and federal courts.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and managing full litigation processes.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills with a focus on detail and deadlines.
• Ability to handle cases independently from inception to conclusion.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar is required.

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and research capabilities.
• Detail-oriented and organized with a strong ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven capacity for managing a large caseload independently.
• Effective communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in public entity defense or insurance defense is a plus.
• Federal court and trial experience is advantageous but not required.
