Senior Immigration Attorney

Duties

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

• Explain immigration laws and provide clients with strategic legal guidance

• Prepare and submit a variety of immigration applications including family-based and removal defense filings

• Visit detention facilities to conduct intakes and provide legal counsel to detained individuals

• Review and revise USCIS applications and packets as needed

• Prepare legal briefs and supporting documentation for EOIR and USCIS cases

• Conduct consultations with prospective clients to assess eligibility and develop case strategies

• Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and immigration court testimony

• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related matters

• Manage and organize a personal caseload while working alongside legal assistants and fellow attorneys

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Proven ability to handle complex immigration cases independently

• Experience in EOIR proceedings, family-based immigration, humanitarian relief, citizenship, and detained cases

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)

• Proficiency in immigration case management software (preferred)

• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team strategy

• Strong record of progressing legal cases through to resolution

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the United States
