A law firm seeks an experienced Principal Attorney specializing in international trade law to join its Business Practice Group in Seattle, WA. This role provides a unique opportunity to support a diverse client base on complex international transactions across multiple industries. The attorney will work closely with a collaborative team of skilled attorneys across various practice areas.

Duties

  • Counsel clients on international trade compliance, customs regulations, and related matters, including tariff classification, valuation, and transfer pricing.
  • Advise clients on issues surrounding forced labor compliance and customs enforcement of antidumping and countervailing duty orders.
  • Represent clients in regulatory interactions related to trade compliance and audits.
  • Collaborate with attorneys from different practice areas to provide comprehensive solutions for clients involved in global trade.
  • Guide clients through international trade agreements and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 7 years in international trade law with expertise in customs, import controls, tariff classification, valuation, transfer pricing, audits, and enforcement of antidumping and countervailing duties.
  • Book of Business: Must have a portable book of business.
  • Academic Credentials: JD from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Licensing: Active license to practice law.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and drafting abilities with a commitment to client-focused service.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective client advisory.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
  • Project Management: Proven organizational skills to handle multiple responsibilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active law license.
