A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney with 1-4 years of experience to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the firm's Immigration Team. The role involves representing clients in various immigration proceedings, preparing and reviewing immigration applications, and developing strategic legal solutions. Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney while managing a personal caseload and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions for clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct intake interviews with detained individuals.
  • Prepare a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and develop necessary case strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony, including developing legal strategies.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits for clients' cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.
  • Demonstrate high interpersonal skills and a record of moving legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian relief, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications is required.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and move legal cases forward efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
