A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Attorney with a background in electrical engineering to join its dynamic team. This position will focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, licensing, providing client counseling, and conducting opinion work. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of three years of experience in patent law and a strong technical understanding of electrical engineering concepts.

Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the electrical engineering field, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support patentability assessments and strategic planning.
  • Provide expert licensing advice and support for clients regarding intellectual property rights.
  • Counsel clients on various intellectual property matters, including patent strategy and enforcement.
  • Prepare and deliver legal opinions on patent-related issues to assist clients in making informed decisions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of experience practicing patent law.
  • Background in electrical engineering, with a strong understanding of relevant technical concepts.
  • Proven ability to draft and prosecute patent applications effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
