Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in the Dallas area is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent law school graduate or attorney with limited experience to gain hands-on experience in the field of immigration law. The attorney will work on a wide range of immigration cases, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and other USCIS matters. The firm offers an environment conducive to professional growth, collaboration, and mentorship.

Location:

  • Dallas, TX

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload and provide consistent updates to clients
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and packets as necessary
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and develop case strategies
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of immigration law experience
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads and move cases forward
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex immigration matters and develop strategic solutions
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential client information
