A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team in Orange, CA. Duties

  • Provide expert guidance on immigration law matters, offering strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a full caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely progression and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct intake meetings with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian relief.
  • Review and revise immigration applications and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, legal entities, and community organizations to stay informed on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations, devise effective legal strategies, and advise on the best course of action.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for immigration court hearings or USCIS testimony.
  • Analyze legal issues to identify potential case advantages or concerns.
  • Draft legal briefs and motions for a wide range of immigration cases.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in immigration law, including handling removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, and other USCIS applications.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage a diverse caseload while maintaining high standards of client service.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Expertise in immigration law, including EOIR procedures, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other immigration matters.
    • Proficiency in case management software is preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.
