A law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Managed Care Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, with a strong background in managed care or health care. This role requires significant case management and client counseling experience, and the ability to handle multiple cases and regulatory matters. The attorney will serve as a key point person on litigation, coordinate with associates and staff, and act as the primary client contact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving managed care and health care litigation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic counsel and updates.
  • Coordinate with other associates and staff to ensure effective case management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters, including discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Provide comprehensive client counseling and regulatory guidance.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues related to managed care and health care.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and arbitration hearings.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Stay informed about developments in managed care and health care laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • 2-3 years of law firm or relevant in-house experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Managed care or health care experience is required.
  • Experience handling multiple cases and/or managing regulatory or compliance matters.
  • Significant case management and/or client counseling experience preferred.
