Partner-level Insurance Coverage Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-regarded international law firm is seeking a Partner-level Insurance Coverage Attorney with over 7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join its global insurance practice. The role involves managing and assisting with both contentious and non-contentious insurance coverage matters, focusing primarily on third-party liability insurance coverage. While this position is based in London, there is flexibility for candidates to work remotely or from one of the firm’s U.S. offices. An existing portable book of business is not required. Strong case management and litigation experience, along with excellent legal research and writing skills, are essential.

Location:

Duties:

• Manage and assist with insurance coverage matters, primarily focusing on third-party liability insurance
• Handle all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and trial proceedings
• Provide expert legal counsel on contentious and non-contentious insurance coverage issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
• Lead case management and coordinate with cross-office teams as needed
• Develop and implement strategies for insurance coverage cases
• Prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, and legal opinions
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trials
• Engage in business development efforts and contribute to expanding the firm's client base

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years PQE in insurance coverage law
• Strong case management and litigation experience, including trial handling
• Excellent legal research, writing, and presentation skills
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
• Strong advocacy skills with experience in contentious and non-contentious matters
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a global team
• Willingness to travel as required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or equivalent legal qualification

Certifications:

• Active State Bar License (if based in the U.S.) or equivalent certification for London-based candidates

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage law, particularly third-party liability
