Associate Attorney needed for Woodbury office

Location:

• Woodbury, NY

Duties:

• Manage an independent caseload with oversight from senior attorneys
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and depositions
• Participate in case inspections and consulting with expert witnesses
• Engage in mediations and settlement discussions
• Assist with trial preparation and support

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in general liability defense, preferably with experience in construction accident/New York Labor Law claims and/or coverage litigation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with depositions, court conferences, and legal research
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• New York Bar License (Required)

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Strong research and writing skills
• Experience conducting depositions, attending hearings, and participating in mediations
• Ability to consult with expert witnesses and engage in trial preparation
• Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw
