Job Overview
A well-regarded law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join a dedicated legal team. This role offers the opportunity for career growth, skill development, and hands-on experience in immigration law, focusing on case management, client interaction, and preparation of immigration applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with Senior Associates and a committed team to deliver strategic solutions for diverse immigration needs.

Duties

  • Explain immigration procedures and provide tailored solutions to clients.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings, including in Immigration Court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload effectively and ensure timely case progression.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals and manage visit schedules at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including those related to removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Engage with law enforcement and community organizations on evolving immigration policies.
  • Conduct consultations to evaluate clients' situations and determine strategic approaches.
  • Develop strategies and guide clients/witnesses in court or USCIS testimonies.
  • Provide in-depth legal analysis to determine case benefits for clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs across a range of immigration cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven experience in managing caseloads and progressing cases independently.
  • Experience with various immigration procedures, including family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, detained cases, EOIR, and USCIS filings.
  • Proficiency with case management software (preferred).
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.

Certifications

  • Licensed attorney in Texas.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills for case evaluations and strategy development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
