A law firm seeks an experienced Senior E-Discovery Attorney to lead firmwide e-discovery procedures, and training, and provide case team support. This position will focus on staying current with the rapidly evolving e-discovery and artificial intelligence landscape. The Senior E-Discovery Attorney will ensure the effective use of these technologies in a standardized manner across the firm, enhancing client outcomes. Additionally, this role will act as a bridge between client-facing case teams and litigation support teams to streamline communication and optimize litigation priorities and technical opportunities.

Duties:

  • Stay informed on advancements in e-discovery and artificial intelligence technologies, particularly within the legal field.
  • Assess and recommend suitable e-discovery and AI software to improve firm operations.
  • Train attorneys on the firm's e-discovery tools and conduct focused sessions for case teams as needed.
  • Develop practical day-to-day use cases for litigation support training, aimed at attorney engagement.
  • Create and maintain a database tracking costs and performance of e-discovery software and vendors, providing cost-saving strategies for clients.
  • Gather market data on third-party e-discovery and project management vendors to explore future partnerships.
  • Track changes in discovery law and regulations, updating the firm on relevant developments.
  • Establish and maintain uniform procedures and best practices for document collection, review, production, and management.
  • Collaborate with case teams to develop strategies that leverage e-discovery tools and ensure proper implementation of firmwide discovery protocols.
  • Serve as a resource for attorneys on e-discovery-related questions and challenges.
  • Oversee and manage the e-discovery function, including supervising staff attorneys and litigation support teams on e-discovery projects.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of litigation discovery experience.
  • Strong proficiency in e-discovery platforms like Relativity or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies as they relate to litigation.
  • Familiarity with data preservation, collection, processing, review, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Ability to train attorneys at various levels on e-discovery and AI technologies, focusing on optimizing client service.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in coordinating internal teams, external vendors, and legal professionals.
  • Capacity to adapt to evolving technologies, industry standards, and regulatory changes in e-discovery and AI.
  • Leadership ability to oversee e-discovery processes and ensure adherence to best practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in e-discovery or related fields are a plus.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of e-discovery technologies and artificial intelligence tools.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to legal professionals.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with legal teams and litigation support professionals.
