Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Tax Associate (4+ years) to join its growing Private Client team in Denver. The ideal candidate will have experience in trust and estate planning, as well as assisting with complex estate and trust administration matters. This role involves drafting and implementing wealth transfer plans for high-net-worth individuals and providing guidance on estate and trust issues.

Location:

Duties:

  • Draft and implement sophisticated wealth transfer plans for high-net-worth individuals.

  • Collaborate on complex estate and trust administration matters.

  • Assist clients with the development and implementation of tax-efficient estate planning strategies.

  • Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda, trust documents, and other related materials.

  • Work with clients to resolve trust and estate disputes.

  • Coordinate with colleagues in the Private Client Group to manage cases effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in trust and estate planning, tax law, or related fields.

  • Strong experience in drafting wealth transfer plans and working with high-net-worth individuals.

  • Knowledge of estate and trust administration matters.

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues proactively and efficiently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the state of practice (Colorado or applicable jurisdiction).

  • An LLM in tax law or related field is a plus, but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, estate planning, and trust administration.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • High level of proficiency in legal research and case management.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
