A law firm in Concord, CA, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in litigation, with a solid background in conducting research, drafting pleadings, and handling discovery. This role involves working independently on pre-trial tasks and gaining training in trial and arbitration practice. A California Bar license is required, and experience in employment and/or real estate litigation is a plus.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
  • Initiate and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, document requests, and depositions.
  • Argue motions and handle various pre-trial tasks effectively without supervision.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and legal arguments.
  • Prepare and organize case files, evidence, and legal documents for trial.
  • Assist in the development of trial and arbitration strategies, gaining exposure and training in these areas.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as needed.
  • Maintain and update case management systems to track deadlines and progress.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an associate litigation attorney.
  • Experience in employment and/or real estate litigation is a plus.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and handling discovery processes.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.
