A law firm in New York City is seeking a Senior Real Estate Lending Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will work with a diverse client base, ranging from large corporations to small businesses across various industries. They will primarily focus on representing financial institutions in real estate and asset-based lending, with a strong emphasis on loan origination.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on real estate financing transactions, including loan origination, structuring, and documentation.
  • Conduct due diligence, review title reports, surveys, and other relevant documents.
  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, and other financing documents.
  • Provide legal guidance on compliance issues related to real estate lending regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and opposing counsel, to manage transactions effectively.
  • Handle closings and ensure all legal requirements are met.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is mandatory.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate and asset-based lending, preferably with a focus on loan origination.
  • Strong understanding of real estate finance, including transactional processes and documentation.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
