General Liability Associate

Job Overview:
A law firm in New York, NY, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability practice group. This role involves handling a diverse caseload, conducting legal research, and representing clients in court. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills and a proactive approach to case management.

Location:

Duties:

• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.

• Perform extensive legal research and draft briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs.

• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and depositions.

• Draft and respond to discovery requests.

• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.

• Prepare cases for trial and attend proceedings as needed.

• Travel as required for case-related matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in general liability litigation (experience in additional practice areas is a plus).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and work in a team environment.

• Strong client relations and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey (additional state bar admissions are a plus but not required).
