Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a mid-level IP Patent Prosecution Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patents and industries, including mechanical, biomedical, and medical devices. Duties

  • Handle patent prosecution, including drafting and filing applications.
  • Conduct patent searches and analysis.
  • Manage and maintain patent portfolios.
  • Collaborate with clients to address patent-related issues.
  • Assist with client development and business growth.
  • Provide advice on patentability and patent infringement issues.
  • Perform due diligence and patent assessments.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Experience handling patents across various industries.
  • Ability to draft and file patent applications.
  • Experience with patent search and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of intellectual property law.
  • Ability to manage multiple patent portfolios simultaneously.
  • Litigation experience is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, biomedical, and medical devices is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registration (Required).

  • Patent Prosecution: Experience drafting and filing patent applications.
  • Intellectual Property Law: In-depth understanding of IP law and patent processes.
