Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated pre-litigation attorney to join their team and manage personal injury cases involving significant or catastrophic injuries. The position involves handling cases before litigation or arbitration, ensuring each claim is thoroughly prepared to achieve maximum value.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of coverage and liability for personal injury claims.
  • Recommend further investigative steps and retain expert witnesses when necessary.
  • Maintain extensive client communication, keeping clients informed of claim statuses and developments.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize medical records and billing statements.
  • Prepare complex demand packages for high-value claims.
  • Negotiate and settle pre-litigation cases effectively and efficiently.
  • Draft legal documents, including Petitions for Minor Compromises and Government Entity Claims, and track associated deadlines and statutes of limitations.
  • Prepare civil complaints and demands for arbitration.
  • Represent clients in pre-suit depositions and defend them during examinations under oath.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in California, in good standing with the State Bar.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney; personal injury law experience preferred.
  • A strong understanding of medical terminology and treatment processes is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an approachable demeanor.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • California Bar License.
