Job Overview: A well-established personal injury law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its team in Roswell, New Mexico. This role involves managing personal injury cases from intake through to resolution, with responsibilities across investigation, negotiation, and litigation phases. The ideal candidate will have strong advocacy skills and a commitment to maximizing client recovery in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Location:

Duties:

  • Conduct initial client intake meetings, demonstrating empathy and gathering key case details
  • Oversee case investigations, assess liability and insurance coverage, and prepare cases for trial
  • Negotiate with insurance adjusters, maintaining client communication and advocating for optimal settlements
  • File lawsuits when necessary and prepare clients for litigation
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as part of the litigation process
  • Collaborate with the legal team to review cases, participate in strategy meetings, and address out-of-standard cases
  • Attend daily team huddles, manage case documentation, and ensure timely client updates

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in New Mexico or eligible for licensing through reciprocity or UBE score
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation, either plaintiff or defense
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Roswell, NM, with regular office hours

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active law license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one
