Job Overview:

A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a Briefing and Research Attorney to join its team. This position is critical to the preparation and success of personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will work closely with trial attorneys, providing essential support through meticulous legal research, drafting legal documents, and trial preparation. The role demands a detail-oriented individual with strong writing skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist trial attorneys in the preparation of personal injury cases.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses, pleadings, and responses to motions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Prepare and assist with depositions, ensuring all relevant documents and information are available.
  • Provide in-court assistance during trials, including organizing exhibits and managing trial logistics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive case management and strategy alignment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Texas personal injury laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in Texas and good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in personal injury law.
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is preferred.
  • Availability to work after hours, as needed, including on-call duties.
