A law firm in New York City is seeking a highly skilled Investigations and White Collar Defense Associate Attorney to join their Investigations and White-Collar Defense (IWCD) practice group. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience, particularly in SEC or PCAOB enforcement matters, government, and internal investigations. Experience with accounting or auditing matters is preferred. This role demands excellent academic credentials, strong interpersonal and communication skills, insightful research and analysis, and persuasive writing abilities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in SEC and PCAOB enforcement matters, as well as other government and internal investigations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather relevant information to support the defense strategy.
  • Analyze and interpret complex legal and regulatory issues related to white-collar crimes.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state laws and regulations to prevent legal violations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, briefs, and investigative reports.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with forensic accountants and other experts to develop comprehensive defense strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with clear and concise legal advice.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates, providing guidance and support as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in SEC or PCAOB enforcement matters, and other government and internal investigations.
  • Strong background in accounting or auditing matters is preferred.
  • Proven track record of insightful research and analysis.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Persuasive writing abilities.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar membership, active and in good standing, in the jurisdiction where you are practicing.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of SEC and PCAOB regulations.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Experience:
