The role involves managing a caseload with partner oversight, drafting legal documents, conducting research, attending legal proceedings, and preparing for trials. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of cases involving architects, engineers, and complex construction claims under the supervision of partners.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses tailored to the specifics of each case.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memorandums on complex construction and professional liability issues.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and other legal proceedings as required.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses, including technical experts.
• Participate in inspections and other investigative activities relevant to construction claims.
• Consult with expert witnesses to develop case strategies and enhance technical arguments.
• Attend mediations to negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Prepare thoroughly for trials, including organizing evidence and drafting trial briefs.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar; certification for admission is acceptable.
• 1-5 years of experience specifically in representing architects and engineers and handling complex construction claims, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Superior analytical skills to assess technical and legal issues and develop effective strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for clear and persuasive advocacy.
• Ability to manage own caseload effectively and collaborate within a team environment.
• Admission to the Connecticut Bar is a plus.

Education and Certifications:
