A law firm in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a highly experienced Construction Partner to join its esteemed team. The ideal candidate should have a full book of business in construction law and demonstrate exceptional legal acumen and client management abilities. Attorneys from major law firms with a lower-level book of business will also be considered.

Duties:

  • Manage and expand a full book of business in construction law, ensuring client satisfaction and meeting revenue targets.
  • Provide expert legal counsel to clients on various construction-related matters, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and compliance.
  • Oversee complex construction projects and legal transactions, ensuring all activities align with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Lead and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, promoting professional development and a collaborative work environment.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation concerning construction disputes.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and legal developments in construction law to provide informed and strategic advice to clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing construction law at a reputable law firm.
  • Proven track record of maintaining a full book of business in construction law (or a demonstrable partial book of business with a solid business plan).
  • Strong negotiation and litigation skills with a history of successful client outcomes.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certification in Construction Law (if applicable).
