Job Overview:
A respected law firm in Northern California is seeking a motivated and self-starting Litigation Associate to join its Merced office. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in business, commercial, trust & estate, and real estate litigation. Location:
Merced, CA

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of litigation matters in business, commercial, trust & estate, and real estate law.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze case law and regulations.
  • Represent clients in court and at hearings.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members on case strategy and management.
  • Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients in litigation matters.

Requirements:

  • 0 to 5 years of experience in litigation.
  • Should have focus on business, commercial, trust & estate, or real estate law.
  • Strong academic background with a proven track record of high performance.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Must have ties to the Merced area.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Litigation skills, including case analysis, drafting, and legal research.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively when addressing legal issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Knowledge of business, commercial, trust & estate, and real estate law is preferred.
