Job Overview:

A law firm in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Mid-Level Restructuring and Insolvency Associate Attorney to join their team. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with experienced lawyers, providing active mentoring and the chance to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in finance and bankruptcy law, including representing secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructuring. Experience with franchisors and financial institutions is desirable. Candidates must be self-starters with strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

Duties:

  • Represent secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructuring.
  • Advise clients on restructuring strategies, bankruptcy filings, and related financial matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, and court orders.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex restructuring and insolvency issues.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and client management.
  • Manage caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff.
  • Participate in negotiations and settlements in bankruptcy and restructuring cases.
  • Stay current with changes in bankruptcy and finance law and industry trends.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, creditors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in finance and bankruptcy law.
  • Demonstrated experience representing secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructuring.
  • Specific experience with franchisors and financial institutions preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing the highest quality client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of North Carolina.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
