A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of immigration law experience and will be responsible for managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with the Immigration Team.

Duties:

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients regarding case benefits and potential strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court and USCIS hearings.
  • Present immigration concepts and strategic solutions to clients.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Utilize case management software to track and manage cases effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar (or willingness to become admitted).
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Experience in handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward efficiently.
  • Familiarity with case management software preferred.
