Job Overview: A law firm based in the Southeastern United States seeks an experienced Healthcare Reimbursement Attorney. This position will involve providing legal guidance on complex issues related to healthcare billing and reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare. The attorney will also advise clients on compliance with federal fraud and abuse laws, such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act. The ideal candidate will have a track record of advising healthcare entities, including hospitals, physician practices, home health agencies, and skilled nursing facilities, on billing, reimbursement processes, and compliance matters.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on healthcare billing and reimbursement matters, focusing on Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare.
  • Advise healthcare entities, including hospitals, physicians, and other providers, on structuring business relationships to comply with federal fraud and abuse laws.
  • Guide clients through the enrollment and claims submission processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Counsel healthcare providers on business and regulatory issues to avoid potential legal risks.
  • Assist clients with understanding the implications of healthcare policy changes and how they affect their billing and reimbursement practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Represent clients in matters related to healthcare billing disputes, audits, and investigations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement law, particularly related to Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare.
  • Strong understanding of federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act.
  • Proven experience advising healthcare providers, such as physicians, hospitals, and medical centers, on compliance and reimbursement issues.
  • Experience with private payors is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and clients simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar in Georgia or eligibility for reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Expertise in healthcare reimbursement law and regulations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior attorneys.
