A law firm seeks an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team in Dallas, TX. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and strategic solutions to clients regarding immigration matters.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals, including both detained and non-detained individuals.
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases from initiation through resolution.
  • Conduct client intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit a range of immigration petitions, including family-based and removal defense filings.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and ensure they comply with applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on evolving immigration policies and legal changes.
  • Meet with potential clients to evaluate cases and develop tailored legal strategies.
  • Guide clients and witnesses in preparation for court hearings or USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct legal analysis to identify potential benefits or risks for clients' cases.
  • Draft and file legal briefs for a variety of immigration-related cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law or related legal fields.
  • Strong ability to manage a caseload efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with a willingness to share insights and strategies with colleagues.
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and legal staff.
  • Proven ability to advance cases and manage complex legal matters.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained clients, citizenship, and USCIS filings.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
